Are you upgrading your home and looking for ways to save on your electric bill, most of us have considered this and it makes sense to do it right the first time. There are so many ways to save electricity and one of the easiest ways is to have energy efficient appliances such as:
- Refrigerator
- Microwave
- Washer
- Dryer
- Coffee Makers
- Computers
- Printers
- Televisions
- Stereo Systems
The most interesting thing is that many people buy appliances on price and barely look at the electricity requirements to run them. It's like buying a car for the cup holder rather than the mileage. Well, those people who bought cars for the fancy foo-foo stuff are still paying $4.00 per gallon like the rest of us. Silly isn't it. It takes no brain power to waste energy. And yes, it does take a little extra time when shopping for a VCR, stereo, TV or computer, but looking at the power required makes sense.
If you are buying a home you also need to consider the layout of the home and it's energy efficiency, because poorly designed homes are not energy efficient and over the course of 10-years can cost you 10s of thousands of dollars and waste 100s of kilowatts. Make sure your future home is thinking in terms of the future, because the cost of electricity is not coming down anytime soon. The DOE projects that America will need at least one third more electricity in the next 20-years even if everyone in diligent in conserving energy; Think on this.
